design BRIEF!! CAPOEIRA Studio

What is capoeira?

"Capoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kapuˈejɾɐ]) is a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, sports, and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences, probably beginning in the 16th century. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly power kicks and quick leg sweeps, with some ground and aerial acrobatics, knee strikes, take-downs, elbow strikes, punches and headbutts. " Wikipedia. last modified on 21 August 2011 at 20:45.

The  game or “Jogo de Capoeira” is best described as a circle (called a “roda”) in which two players (capoeiristas) display their techniques in a whirlwind of power, speed and agility. They are guided by the music, singing and clapping of the people in the roda.

The studio should be a space that allows dance, martial arts and instrumental performance and training/practice.
Plenty of light for day and night training. Artificial lighting for performances can be intense and spirtiual (low lights focusing on the players).
Plenty of open spaces, high ceiling (for acrobatics), But also spaces can be partitioned to create secular spaces for private training or when more then one group to train in.
Music must be contained within any given space.
Good air flow and ventilation.
Changing rooms, showers and bathrooms. Perhaps a small kitchen area
floors must be flat (wooden floors are good but sometimes they are polished that they are too slippery=dangerous!lol) it would be great if the floors can convert to padded mats.
Mirrors 3 meters high from floor.
